At the core of Jaroslav Juřica’s work is industrial and product design, a field he has been dedicated to for over twenty years. He graduated from the School of Industrial Design at Lund University in Sweden and studied sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts (FaVU) at Brno University of Technology. This unique synthesis allows him to perceive design in a broader context - not merely as the shaping of objects, but as a search for their inner substance, identity, and perspective.
Driven by extensive experience and a deep understanding of product development, his work has naturally expanded into the strategic realm. Today, he does not just design individual products; he shapes the overall vision of brand portfolios, rebrandings, and market directions. In doing so, he seamlessly bridges precise design craftsmanship with business strategy.
His ability to connect conceptual thinking with technological reality was demonstrated during his studies in Sweden, where he received the prestigious Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship. He completed an internship at the progressive Dutch studio Demakersvan and was selected for the elite S.T.A.R. (Space and Terrestrial Architectural Research) Design program, organized in cooperation with the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Design is research - understanding the material, exploring its possibilities, experimenting, and innovating. Whether I’m working with paper, metal, or concrete, their possibilities determine the outcome.
Since 2019, Jaroslav has transformed design-to-order into a technological start-up. He developed the innovative ORIGAMI WALL modular vertical garden system and directed the entire product development process, brand building, and the creation of a cohesive brand identity.
The result is prestigious awards including the BigSee, the German Design Award, and the most prestigious Red Dot Award!
Innovation
Essence
Design is a creative process that reflects the meaning of the product, the technical requirements of production and the essence of the brand at the same time.
Regardless of the complexity, the goal is to seek clean and simple solution.
In 2010, Jaroslav won a competition marking the 150th anniversary of bentwood furniture with his design for the 002 chair, which reflected the company’s technological heritage.
For this design, he was nominated as Designer of the Year by the CGD Academy; the project won the Innovation Award and was nominated for the German Design Award, and the chair became a permanent part of the brand’s portfolio.

Design is a system that gives a product line harmony, clarity, and a consistent character. It serves as the link between brand identity and optimized manufacturing. It unifies all aspects of a growing product line into a single cohesive whole.
As a lead designer, Jaroslav stands behind the complete development of the entire YEDOO scooter portfolio. His long-term conceptual work culminated in the Wolfer model winning the globally recognized Red Dot Design Award.

Strategic Consultations & Interdisciplinary Approach
Jaroslav Juřica’s ability to view projects from a macro perspective and beyond the usual conventions of product design makes him a sought-after consultant for complex and unconventional assignments. Companies and creative studios invite him to tackle projects where connecting user experience (UX), spatial context, and strategic planning is crucial.
These interdisciplinary collaborations include:
-
CHYBIK + KRISTOF Architects: Consultations on the borderline between product design and architecture, addressing the synergy of objects, detail, and large spatial contexts.
-
Naše kultivovaná města (Delivery Boxes: Strategy for 18 Cities): Strategic and urban solutions for placing and implementing automated delivery boxes in public spaces, where design directly influences urban mobility and the visual culture of cities.
-
Boardcubator: Consultation and development of game components for internationally successful board games, requiring specific process-driven and user-centric thinking.
Academic Engagement
He shares his experience both in academia and within the professional community. From 2021 to 2022, he led the furniture design studio at Mendel University in Brno, shaping the strategic thinking of the future generation of designers. As a respected authority, he is regularly invited to expert panels and serves as a jury member for prominent industry competitions and trade fairs.
